HAND-CANED VINTAGE CHAIR
Studio Restoration.
This small vintage chair was rescued from being discarded and has been carefully restored in the Kate Morris Studio.
The original frame was re-glued to ensure long-term structural integrity, before the wood was gently cleaned, revived and hand-waxed to bring out its natural warmth and character.
Both the seat and back have been traditionally re-caned by hand, using natural cane to create a light, breathable and beautifully tactile finish. Caning is a highly skilled craft and gives this piece a renewed sense of life while preserving its original charm.
A quiet, characterful chair — perfect as a bedroom accent, or occasional piece.
