ARTICULATED TABLE
Such an unusual piece — and incredibly old. When it was stripped back, the internal padding had been filled with hay and mud! Safe to say everything was removed and the piece was completely rebuilt using rubberised hair.
Initially thought to have been a doctor’s table, this articulated piece now works perfectly as a coffee table or footstool. The adjustable structure allows it to be set at different angles, making it both functional and a real conversation piece.
Work carried out:
- Stripped piece back to the bare frame
- Removed original internal fillings (hay and mud)
- Rebuilt internal padding using rubberised hair
- Re-upholstered all padded sections
- Pattern matched striped fabric across moving sections
- Retained and restored articulated mechanism
- Final fitting and finishing
Fabric used: Wilde Stripe in Plum by Mulberry Home.
This was a customer commission. If you have a chair or piece of furniture you’d like restored or reupholstered, I’d love to discuss your project. Please get in touch to talk through options and fabrics.
